The star-studded action movie, which possibly will get a follow-up, debuts on number one at the chart, followed by 'Eat, Pray, Love' starring Julia Roberts.

AceShowbiz - "The Expendables" has apparently proven itself as a movie that quenches men's thirst for action-packed flick. On its debut weekend, the film has won over another new release "Eat, Pray, Love" which is targeted for female audience.

Starring and directed by Sylvester Stallone, "Expendables" pulls in an estimated $35 million revenue, forcing former champ "The Other Guys" to drop two slots to the third with an additional $18 million cume. Meanwhile, the drama that has Julia Roberts on the lead role becomes runner-up after raking in an approximately $23.7 million.

"Inception" secures the fourth spot with an estimated $11.4 million revenue, making its current domestic gross of $248.6 million. Another newcomer "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" has quite a disappointing debut, landing on the fifth place with an estimated $10.5 million.

In another "The Expendables" news, Sylvester Stallone has once again dished on what he will do for the proposed sequel. "It's plotted out in my mind's eye," he shared. "I believe this group has to continue to evolve; it just can't become the same people. So how do you get new people introduced into the group, and how do you have some of the other people leaving? Those are the challenges."
