The 'Power' rapper is rumored to make a live performance on the stage of the awards show which will be held on September 12.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West reportedly is going to attend this year's MTV Video Music Awards despite what he did last year for embarrassing Taylor Swift with his rude interruption. The rap mogul is expected to take the stage for a live performance, Us Magazine reported.

Kanye West has an "on/off relationship" with MTV. In 2007, he vowed never to come back to MTV after losing all the nominations he received and walking home empty-handed. A year later, he made amends with the network and agreed to perform at the closing set of its annual prize-giving event.

But, their reconciliation didn't last long. The "Heartless" MC once again criticized MTV for giving 2009 Best Female Video prize to Taylor Swift instead of Beyonce Knowles. He cut short the country music singer's acceptance speech and threw drunken rant on stage.

Since then, he hasn't debuted any of his work on MTV although the network never officially banned him. A year has gone and it seems both parties have moved on. He trusted MTV to premiere his "Painting of Power" right after hit reality show "Jersey Shore" earlier this month.

Kanye then promised he will behave from now on. "No more time to be a rude a*shole celebrity," he said in Ustream chat. "It's about the art. I'm not allowing my attitude to get in the way of my creation anymore. I had to change my attitude completely, and now my statement is only amazing work. That's all I want to do, is give you all the most amazing work possible."

This year, he is sharing Best Hip-Hop Video nomination with Drake, Lil Wayne and Eminem for their duet track "Forever". Fans can find out whether or not he can win when the awards show is held next month on September 12. Florence and the Machine are confirmed to perform, while Katy Perry, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Usher, Pink and 30 Seconds to Mars are other rumored musical guests in addition to Kanye West.
