Though the Angelina Jolie-starring action film debuts well, the Christopher Nolan's sci-fi flick collects more than the newcomer.

AceShowbiz - "Inception" has maintained its crown at North American Box Office. The film which debuted atop the chart last week still secures the spot this weekend though newcomer "Salt" has a chance to steal the coveted position.

The sci-fi action which comes from the man behind "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight", Christopher Nolan, drops a modest 30.7|percent| in its revenue, adding an estimated $43.5 million to its domestic gross. Meanwhile, "Salt" which has Angelina Jolie as the lead actress rakes in an approximately $36.5 million on its first weekend.

Last week runner-up "Despicable Me" is forced to drop one place to the third with an estimated $24.1 million cume. It is followed by "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" which fails to give a strong competition as it collects far less than the animation with an approximately $9.7 million cume. "Toy Story 3" still maintains last week position on the fifth with an additional $9 million gross, making a total domestic revenue of $379.5 million.

In the meantime, another newcomer, "Ramona and Beezus", does not have a sweet debut like "Salt" does. The 20th Century Fox family comedy starring Selena Gomez does not even make it to the top five, coming on the sixth place with an estimated $8 million from ticket sales in North America.
