Movie

Angelina Jolie explained why she took the role in 'Salt' and Aaron Eckhart shared the three weeks he and other stars of 'Battle: Los Angeles' spent at Marine boot camp training in Louisiana.

AceShowbiz - On Thursday, July 22 at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Hall H at San Diego Comic Con International belonged to Sony Pictures Entertainment. As scheduled, the studio promoted "Salt" and "Battle: Los Angeles".

"Salt" opened the panel with an introduction to the stars, Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber, director Phillip Noyce as well as producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. A new exclusive trailer was then presented to the attendees, highlighting the action-packed moments of the film.

Since the movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 23, there were not much presented other than the said trailer. The rest of the time was spent with Q&A session, during which Jolie, who appeared in natural make up and simple outfit, told the audience that she took the role in the film because the action flicks she had done in the past were all fantasy-based but this one was based in reality.

Michelle Rodriguez and Aaron Eckhart, joined by director Jonathan Liebesman and producer Neal H. Moritz, took over the stage to promote "Battle: Los Angeles". A preview for the movie was shared in form of a trailer which features a lot of explosions, some impressive CGI effects, and a lot of fast cuts.

Eckhart then shared his experience joining Marine boot camp training in Louisiana to portray a soldier in the movie focusing on the battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. As for Rodriguez, she made the audience shocked with her bold statement when asked if she would take on some lighter roles to contrast the "macho badass" ones she usually plays as she replied, "What do you mean? Get raped and win an Oscar?"

"Battle: Los Angeles" is planned to invade theaters across the country on March 11, 2011. Before that, some new stills from the movie have been made available online for sneak peek.
