Movie

Both Jennifer Stone and Nicole Anderson broke the casting news through their Twitter pages, with the former stating that she has started shooting for the movie on July 6.

AceShowbiz - "Mean Girls 2" has recruited two more young actresses. After Meaghan Jette Martin and Maiara Walsh confirmed that they join the project, Jennifer Stone and Nicole Anderson have also announced that they are involved in the same movie.

Stone recently took it to her Twitter to inform that she is cast in the second "Mean Girls" film. Later on July 6, she updated her status, writing "First day of shooting and it's the first time I've ever had my name on a chair. One of those moments you remember. I am a lucky gal." Though so, there is no word on her role.

On the same day, Anderson revealed that she will soon join the production of the film as she tweeted, "Back in LA for a couple of hours then heading to ATL for a month. Missing Cabo already but excited to start work on Mean Girls 2!" On her part, she claimed, "[I play] Hope, a Plastic. The new Gretchen!"

Both Jennifer Stone and Nicole Anderson are best known for her roles on Disney Channel series. The former stars opposite Selena Gomez as Harper Finkle on "Wizards of Waverly Place", while the latter takes the role of Macy Misa and shares screen with Jonas Brothers on "J.O.N.A.S!", which is now retitled "Jonas L.A.".

"Mean Girls 2", which will not feature main stars from the first movie, will follow Jo, the main mean girl in the film, who agrees to befriend outcast Abby at the urging of Abby's wealthy father in exchange for paying all of Jo's costs for the college of her dreams. The story becomes a high stakes battle of loyalty that ultimately comes to a head when one of our heroines finds out that her friendship has been bought and paid for.

Meaghan Jette Martin is Jo, while Maiara Walsh will be playing one of Jo's followers called the Plastics. Melanie Mayron is on board for the helming duty for this drama comedy, which is targeted for 2011 release.
