The actor who will leave after the 2010-11 season said the show will survive without Dunder Mifflin's annoying boss Michael Scott.

AceShowbiz - Back in April this year, Steve Carell let it slip during an interview with BBC Radio that he was not up to renewing his contract on "The Office". The actor has just made it official on Monday, June 28, saying the show will plain survive without Michael Scott.
"I just think it's time," Carell was quoted as saying on E! Online. "I want to fulfill my contract. When I first signed on, I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go."
The actor, who has actively appeared in feature movies while attached to the NBC series, said the show will do well without his character. "I think it's just a dynamic change to the show, which could be a good thing, actually," he reasoned.
The writers of the comedy actually have come long prepared for any departure of the cast, taking it as an actual office where workers come and go. Mindy Kaling, one of the staff writers as well as the depicter of Kelly Kapoor said years back, "My dream is that when Steve leaves the show, we could have Amy Poehler come on as the boss. I think Amy's flawless."
