Dozens of Stars Help Raising 1.3 Million Dollars on Larry King's Telethon

In a bid to help victims of the U.S. Gulf Coast oil disaster, big names including Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Seacrest and Sting have answered phones from people who want to make donation.

AceShowbiz - Larry King has made a big buck in his two-hour telethon to benefit victims of the U.S. Gulf Coast oil disaster. During the program, aired live at 8 P.M. on Monday night, June 21 on ET, the television and radio host, with the help of dozens of celebrities, has raised $1.3 million to aid the Gulf Coast, CNN reported.

Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Seacrest and Sting were among the stars who've signed on to participate on King's force to ask callers for dollars. By dialing 1-800-491-GULF and giving away their cash, people could contribute to help those who are greatly damaged by the oil disaster. Donors could choose to send their money to the United Way, National Wildlife Fund or The Nature Conservancy.

"Everyone's really pissed off," Jenny McCarthy, who was monitoring online messages in the telethon's "Tweet Suite", told "American Idol" host Seacrest. Meanwhile, in another booth with Tyson Ritter answering the phone, the rocker sounded excited when one donor called in. He gushed, "A hundred dollars? Wow! Thanks you so much."

New Orleans native Aaron Neville, additionally, revealed that most of the calls he answered in New York were from people who are worried about animals impacted by the oil. The singer shared, "People are crying on the phone and giving money." Celebrity journalist Giuliana Rancic also revealed the same thing. "She's saying it's the animals," Rancic said after being on the phone with "Barbara" from Kokomo, Indiana.

Meanwhile, shrimper Archie Dantin, who has become the victim of the oil disaster, told CNN correspondents how his life has been interrupted, saying "The toughest thing I see is losing a way of life that we've had down here for generations and generation."

Other stars who took part on the Larry King's telethon include retired NBA star Jalen Rose, Robert Redford, Donald Trump's wife Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump, Randy Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Chelsea Handler, ke$ha, Nicole Richie, Tim McGraw and Pete Wentz.
