AceShowbiz - New trailer for "The American" starring George Clooney has been made available for viewing pleasure. It sees the lead actor showing off his skill in assembling weapon and follows him on his duty as an assassin. In the video, it is also seen that he will be romantically related to a certain woman.

Clooney's Jack is a master craftsman who decides his next assignment will be his last after a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde, is in the offing as a weapon is constructed.

Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto, with whom he opens up about himself, and pursues romance with local woman Clara. But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

Joining Clooney on the cast line-up are Thekla Reuten who stars as Mathilde, Paolo Bonacelli as Father Benedetto, and Violante Placido as Clara. Clooney additionally produces the movie alongside Anne Carrey and Grant Heslov, with Anton Corbijn and Rowan Joffe serving as director and scribe respectively. This suspense thriller will hit limited U.S. theaters on September 1.
