AceShowbiz - It has been announced in a press release that Katy Perry is tapped to take hosting duty at this year's Teen Choice Awards. On top of that, the singer who just rocked MTV Movie Awards with her "California Gurls" performance with Snoop Dogg is also scheduled to sing at the upcoming event.
The 12th Annual Teen Choice Awards is going to be aired live on Fox Monday, August 9 at 8:00-10:00 P.M. ET/PT. Surfboard trophies will be awarded to the coolest stars in such categories as Choice TV Villain, Choice Scene Stealer and the newest entry, Choice Country Music Artist.
For the show, Katy Perry whose new album "Teenage Dream" is due August 24 is confirmed to have a co-host partner who will be unveiled sometime soon. Nominees, presenters and additional performers are also promised to be announced in the coming weeks.
