Gemma Arterton 'Not Even Close' to Replace Megan Fox in 'Transformers 3'
Movie

Despite report that the 'Clash of the Titans' actress is the frontrunner to be the film's new leading lady, a source says 'It's not Gemma.'

AceShowbiz - It seems that Michael Bay does not easily find the replacement for Megan Fox in "Transformers 3". Following rumor that the helmer has his eyes on Gemma Arterton to fill the vacant position in the next film, new reports mention that it is not the case.

Movieline was first to notice a series of posts on Michael Bay's official site and Don Murphy's forums which discuss the hot topic. Responding to question of whether or not Gemma will be tapped as the new female lead, a contributor called "iceforest" writes, "Not even close. As in the rumor of who's going to be the new girl," on the producer's forums. On Bay's site, meanwhile, the same guy who is also known as Nelson states, "No hints, but it's not Gemma."

Beside Gemma, models Bar Refaeli, Miranda Kerr and Brooklyn Decker are also mentioned as the contenders to take the coveted role in the third "Transformers" film. Other names thrown as the possible depicter of Sam Witwicky's new love interest are Zoe Saldana, Hayden Panettiere, Camilla Belle, Vanessa Hudgens and many others.

In another news, TheWrap has revealed the real reason why Megan Fox left "Transformers" film franchise. The site claims to have received information from a source "close to the actress" who says that the 24-year-old star dropped out of the forthcoming project because Michael Bay was "verbally abusive" and she "had enough", thus she "decided to get out early."

"Transformers 3" is slated to hit U.S. theaters on July 1, 2011 with Michael Bay still tackling the helming duty. Shia LaBeouf is on board to reprise his role as Sam Witwicky, joined by Josh Duhamel who will return as Major Lennox.
