Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky to Catch 'The Tiger'

The two are set to produce the drama thriller, with the actor rumored to star as a game warden who takes on the big wild cat.

is ready to encounter wild animal in his next big screen project. The "" star is developing "" and teaming up with "" helmer Darren Aronofsky as well as Mark Heyman, Ari Handel, Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner to produce it.

Based on a nonfiction book by John Vaillant called "The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival" which will be released in August, the film will center its story on the hunt for a man-eating tiger across the forbidding landscape of Siberia. Pitt will possibly tackle the character of a game warden and conservationist who must face down the tiger.

Guillermo Arriaga, who has worked together with Pitt for multi-arc drama "", has been hired to provide the screenplay. "I chose to adapt this story, first, because I have a profound love for the outdoors and the intense tension between man and nature which the book reflects; and, second, because of the great privilege of working with such accomplished filmmakers as Darren Aronofsky, Brad Pitt, and James Schamus," the scribe said.

No director has been attached to the adventure thriller, which is expected to come out in 2012.

Brad Pitt provides his voice for upcoming animation "" and will be seen in "" which will hit U.S. theaters on November 1. He is expected to start shooting "" this summer.

As for Darren Aronofsky, he is currently in post production for "", which features the likes of and among the cast ensemble. The supernatural thriller is planned to be released sometime this year in the U.S.
