Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart Have Real Musicians at 'The Runaways' NY Premiere

From the real members of The Runaways to female deejays, all gathered at the event held on March 17 to promote the film starring Fanning and Stewart.

AceShowbiz - Another promotional effort has been made for "The Runaways". This time, Apparition held a premiere for the movie on Wednesday, March 17 at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City and welcomed the guests with black carpet.

Two lead stars Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart certainly did not miss the event. The 16-year-old actress looked simple that night with a cream-colored embroidered dress matched with the same colored shoes. Her co-star, meanwhile, looked more mature in her skimpy dress paired with black high heels. They were later joined by director and screenwriter Floria Sigismondi.

The event additionally has attracted a number of musicians. Beside having Joan Jett and Cherie Currie who are members of The Runaways among the guests, the premiere was also attended by singer Debbie Harr, DJs Geordon Nicol, Leigh Lezark and Greg Krelenstein of The Misshapes as well as pop punk band Care Bears on Fire which consists of Sophie, Izzy and Jena.

Moreover, actress Kirstie Alley was seen taking her children to the special screening. "The Runaways" is based on the 1970s all-girl rock band of the same name, which were brought together in late 1975 by impresario Kim Fowley. The film will cover the formation of The Runaways through to Cherie's departure at the peak of their success. The film will arrive in limited U.S. theaters on March 19 before opening wide on April 9.
