The actor who was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment was given a 'very sad' memorial in Toronto.

AceShowbiz - Corey Haim was laid to final rest on Tuesday, March 16 at Thornhill memorial chapel in Toronto. Around two hundred of friends and family packed the place to pay him respect while some fans stood on the church's lawn while the 45-minutes service was going on.

Maytal Kotler, a second cousin of Haim's longtime friend and co-star Corey Feldman described the service as "very sad but with a lot of laughter." Feldman himself skipped the event to honor the family's decision to have it small and private. Instead, the actor is concentrating on organizing a memorial for Haim which is to be held in Los Angeles.

The service closed with seven police patrol cars escorting the funeral car. A celebrity memorabilia site that Haim sometimes sold items to, Startifacts, had donated $20,000 to cover the cost of the transportation and headstone. Fans also contributed to the cause since Haim's mother Judy pleaded so.

Corey Haim, star of "Lost Boys", died of enlarged heart, pulmonary congestion and water in his lungs on March 11. The official cause of death is still pending toxicology tests.
