The 'Push' hunk is reportedly added to the list of possible depicter of the superhero, while the 'The Office' actor is said not going to take the lead role in 'The First Avenger: Captain America'.

While no name has been confirmed to be the lead actor in "The First Avenger: Captain America", another actor has been linked to the role. Deadline Hollywood has just reported that is considered to be the depicter of the superhero as Marvel Studios is still actively looking for the right actor to star in the upcoming film.

Joining the "" actor on the current short list are "" star , who in the previous report was said still having no test deal, and from "". Moreover, Deadline mentioned that (""), Patrick Flueger ("The 4400") and (""), who were also among the contenders, are allegedly out of the competition.

The scoop regarding Kransinski losing his chance to be Captain America is quite contrary to earlier report made by FOX411. According to the site, insiders at Marvel Studios have informed them that he is "a favorite among the key decision makers and has been asked to come back for more this week."

"John has read 4 times and is doing screen tests. He has screen tested 2 times so far. It's very likely that he will be the new Captain America," the insider says, before adding. "The big bosses are having him read with multiple actresses up for the female leads. They want to lock down the role and then they will narrow down everyone else."

"If John gets offered the role, the pay will not be outrageous but it would be a multi-film deal," the insider further tells FOX411. "Marvel has big plans to tie the movies together and John would have parts in all of them since the first Captain America will be an origin story. The movie will break down how Steve Rogers becomes Captain America."

Those who also joined the audition but have been out of the competition to play Captain America include ("") and Michael Cassidy ("").

"The First Avenger: Captain America" will center its story on Steve Rogers military service washout who volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America and tries to fit in his new image. Joe Johnston is already hired to direct while Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are tapped to write the script. Paramount Pictures eyes July 22, 2011 release in the U.S. for this action movie.
