The 'American Idol' alum is to kick off the TV series with his acoustic performances of 'For Your Entertainment' next week.

AceShowbiz - Award-winning series "VH1 Unplugged" returns with a big bang this month since Adam Lambert has been tapped to be the first guest. Michelle Collins of BestWeekEver.tv reported that she attended the exclusive taping of the show a couple of weeks ago and the execs have allowed her to announce the performers.

Lambert's date is March 10. It will be the first of eight scheduled episodes that present among others Phoenix (for MTV), The Script (for VH1) and Reba McEntire (for CMT). In the show's manner, Lambert will be performing songs from his debut album "For Your Entertainment" accompanied by acoustic back up and surrounded by audience in an intimate stage.

Lambert is currently touring in Australia to promote the album until March 9. One of his stops Down Under included the country's version of "So You Think You Can Dance". After that, he would travel to Singapore, Tokyo, U.K. and finally wind down in Canada in early April.
