Movie

The 'Ghost Rider' actor is tapped to provide a voice for a cave-family man while the 'The Proposal' hunk is cast as a nomad in the animation titled 'The Croods'.

AceShowbiz - Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds have been cast in caveman comedy called "The Croods". However, the two will not be seen dressing like The Flintstones as they are tapped only to voice the characters in this DreamWorks' animation.

According to Variety, Cage is plotted to provide the voice for Crug, a cave-family man who cautiously leads his family beyond his comfort zone after an earthquake destroys their home. Reynolds, meanwhile, is tapped to voice a nomad character who charms Crug's clan, especially his eldest daughter, with his modern-minded ways.

First developed by "Space Chimps" director Kirk DeMicco and John Cleese, the film has DeMicco and "Lilo and Stitch" creator Chris Sanders teaming up to write and direct the upcoming movie. Kristine Belson and Jane Hartwell serve as producers for this film, which will be made into 3-D and is scheduled for March 30, 2012 U.S. release.

Nicolas Cage, who previously lent his voice for a lead role in "Astro Boy", is famous through his appearances in a number of action movies such as "Face Off" and "Ghost Rider". He can next be seen starring in "Season of the Witch" and "Kick-Ass".

As for Ryan Reynolds, he is best known for his roles in comedy films including "Just Friends" and "The Proposal". Lately, however, he nabbed the lead role in several superhero films, "Green Lantern" and "Deadpool", after starring in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine".
