Teaming up with the American Red Cross, the singer who is in the middle of his 'Battle Studies' tour spreads message to the nation that 'every donation brings hope.'

AceShowbiz - John Mayer is calling for generous people to donate for the Haitian relief effort through his "Heart of Life" song. While the track is played, several pictures of the volunteers helping the earthquake victims are flashed with a message read "every donation brings hope."
"Pain throws your heart to the ground / love turns the whole thing around," so part of the lyrics sung in the Red Cross' PSA read. "No, it won't all go the way it should but I know the heart of life is good."
In addition to giving his "Continuum" single to be used on the video message, John Mayer has also donated $500,000 to the American Red Cross through his Back To You Fund. In January moreover, he performed on CNN's "Haiti: How You Can Help" special which raised more than $5.8 million for the cause.
