Universal Pushes Back 'Little Fockers' for Matt Damon's 'Adjustment Bureau'

December 22 is the new release date for the Ben Stiller-starring comedy, while the drama sci-fi and another Universal's movie 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' are set for summer release.

"" will come out a little bit longer than it was expected. Universal Pictures has pushed back the release date for the "" sequel to December 22 and given the July 30 slot to "", so The Hollywood Reporter mentioned.

Speaking about the new schedule, Universal's domestic distribution maven Nikki Rocco admitted the studio is being "opportunistic" with its scheduling moves after noting the absence of a big comedy in the mix of 2010 holiday titles. "A year ago, the Christmas landscape wasn't as clear," she explained about the old summer release for "Little Fockers".

Additionally, the studio has set a summer release for "" as the action adventure film is planned to be dropped in U.S. theaters on August 13. This movie adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series titled "Scott Pilgrim" will compete with 's "" and ' "" which are also set to hit U.S. theaters on the same day.

"Little Fockers" will follow the Focker and the Byrnes families welcoming Greg Focker and Pam Byrnes' children. Beside having the cast of "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers" such as and returning to the third film, the upcoming comedy will see portraying an attractive pharmaceutical rep who attracts all the male characters.

"The Adjustment Bureau", in the meantime, is a contemporary science fiction love story that is based on Phillip K. Dick's "Adjustment Team". leads as a charismatic congressman who seems destined for national political stardom. He meets a beautiful ballet dancer, only to find strange circumstances keeping their sparks from catching fire.

Meanwhile, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" revolves around a young slacker who falls in love with Ramona Flowers. Never having problems of getting a girlfriend before, this time he finds out that he must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends to win his true love. Playing the titular character, will star opposite who takes the role of his love interest.
