AceShowbiz - The winners of the 15th Annual Critics' Choice Awards have been announced on Friday night, January 15, revealing the domination of "Avatar". The big-budget movie has managed to grab six awards for Best Action Movie, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.
Being named as Best Picture was "The Hurt Locker", which additionally helped its helmer Kathryn Bigelow to receive Best Director award. Meanwhile, "Inglourious Basterds" has successfully aided its cast to receive Best Acting Ensemble prize in addition to earning Best Supporting Actor gong for Christoph Waltz. Its director, Quentin Tarantino, then also took home one kudo for Best Original Screenplay.
Some stars who also became the winners that night included Jeff Bridges, who was honored with Best Actor prize through his performance in "Crazy Heart", as well as "Julie & Julia" actress Meryl Streep and "The Blind Side" beauty Sandra Bullock who shared Best Actress award. Additionally, "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire" star Mo'Nique won Best Supporting Actress award, while "The Lovely Bones" leading lady Saoirse Ronan picked up Best Young Actor/Actress gong.
