'Resident Evil: Afterlife' Gets New 2010 Release Date

After being pushed back to early 2011, the film is reportedly planned to be dropped two weeks earlier than its original September 24 slot.

"" will arrive this year, Shock Till You Drop has learned. After the release date for the film was moved back to January 14, 2011, it has been reported having new 2010 release date. This fourth installment of the sci-fi flick allegedly will not be back on its original September 24 slot, but is slated for September 10 release.

Back in December 2009, Screen Gems announced that they have postponed the release for the film to give Paul W.S. Anderson more time to complete the movie in post-production. To adjust to the change, the studio even moved up vampire thriller "" from its original release date on October 1, 2010 to August 20 the same year.

This upcoming "Resident Evil" film kicked off principal photography in September 2009 and wrapped it three months later on December 15. Beside who reprises her role as Alice, the movie also has , , and joining the cast ensemble.

"Resident Evil: Afterlife" will revolve around Alice, who continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety in a world ravaged by a virus infection, where its victims are turned into the Undead. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but she gets some unexpected help from an old friend.
