Jaden Smith's 'The Karate Kid' Welcomes First Trailer

Jaden Smith's Dre Parker follows his mother who moves to China, where he will become the victim of class bully before he meets master of kung fu, Jackie Chan's Mr. Han.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "The Karate Kid" has been made available for viewing pleasure. Making its way out via Yahoo! Movies, the video gives the first look at American boy Dre Parker who moves to China and learns martial art from Mr. Han, a master of kung fu.

A remake of 1984 film of the same title, "The Karate Kid" will follow 12-year-old Dre, whose life is turned upside down after he moves from Detroit to China. Being the most popular kid in his homeland, he is now bullied by Cheng due to his feelings to his classmate Mei Ying.

With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han, who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life.

"The Karate Kid" has Will Smith's son Jaden Smith taking the lead role. It is also supported by Jackie Chan who plays Mr. Han, and Taraji P. Henson who portrays Dre Parker's mother. Directed by Harald Zwart, this Columbia Pictures' action drama will open wide in U.S. theaters on June 11, 2010.
