Robert Rodriguez Gives Updates on 'Spy Kids 4' and 'Sin City 2'
Movie

The helmer will kick off production for the next sequel of 'Spy Kids' in spring 2010, but he is still not sure when he will start working on the follow-up to Bruce Willis-starring movie.

AceShowbiz - Ropeofsilicon recently had a chance to catch up with Robert Rodriguez, the director of "Sin City" and three "Spy Kids" films. Being met on his Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas, the filmmaker has provided some information about "Sin City 2" and "Spy Kids 4".

Confirming the next sequel to "Spy Kids" is really happening, the helmer revealed the upcoming movie will be a reboot because the kids, who played in the previous films, have grown up now. "I've already turned in a script for another 'Spy Kids', which is a reboot. It's different kids, not the old kids, and that one is really cool," Rodriguez explained. Additionally, he informed that the film will start shooting in March or April 2010 and will be released in 3-D, like the third movie.

As for "Sin City 2", the future of the sequel to this Bruce Willis-starring movie is still unclear. Though Rodriguez claimed he and director/scribe/producer Frank Miller want to do it, they still don't know when they will start working on it. "I know Frank wants to do it. I know I want to do it. But it's always sort of a time-permitting kinda thing....It's not my next picture, I know that. Doesn't mean that it's not the picture right after. That's still a possibility," the 41-year-old stated.

However, he said there has been a script since 2007 for this action drama sequel, but they will make some adjustments to it. It has not been known how the death of its star Brittany Murphy will affect the plan of making the upcoming movie as the interview was held prior to the tragedy on Sunday, December 20.
