Noms for 2009 Chicago Film Critics Association Awards Unveiled

Leading the pack are 'Up in the Air' and 'Where the Wild Things Are' which grab six nominations each and will be up against each other in three categories.

On Wednesday, December 16, Chicago Film Critics Association (CFCA) has announced their nominees for the best of 2009, unraveling the dominations of "" and "". Scoring six nominations each, the two movies will compete in three categories, Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Beside those three nods, the Jason Reitman-directed drama lands Best Actor count for and Best Supporting Actress gongs for and . Meanwhile, the -starring film places Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers among the nominees for Best Adapted Screenplay. This Warner Bros. Pictures' drama is additionally nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

Other movies which are also among the nominees are "" and "". The Iraq-set movie about an Army bomb squad and -directed action drama will up against each other in three categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.

The final round of voting for the 2009 CFCA Awards has begun and will conclude at 6:00 P.M. (CST) on December 20. Then, the winners will be announced in the morning of December 21.
