Challenged in rating, the drama series airing on ABC puts hope in the recurring appearance of the '24' star.

AceShowbiz - "The Forgotten" gets a buzz from Elisha Cuthbert who will be guest starring as a recurring cast. ABC has confirmed that the star of "24" will come in six-episode arc starting the eleventh one, which is expected to air early next year.

According to the press release, her character is named Maxine Denver. She is a "strong and successful Chicago professional who is forced to put her skepticism of 'amateur detectives' aside when The Forgotten Network begins investigating a case close to home."

Cuthbert is also set to reprise her role as Jack Bauer's daughter on "24" in a couple of episodes airing next year. The "Forgotten" stint is said to begin in February, just in time for Cuthbert to finish the "24" obligation and move on to the new project.

Starring Christian Slater, "The Forgotten" is a drama surrounding Identity Network, a group comprised of dedicated, amateur detectives. Their job is to reconstruct the pieces of unidentified victims of crime using what little evidence is left behind. Since being premiered in September, the show had not been stellar in rating with an average of 7.98 million up until the ninth episode.
