Beyonce Knowles Leads 2010 Grammy Awards Nominations

Beyonce Knowles dominates nominations for the 52nd annual Grammys with ten kudos, while Taylor Swift follows with eight nods.

AceShowbiz - On a one-hour special dubbed "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown to Music's Biggest Night", nominations recipients for next year's Grammy Awards have been revealed. Beyonce Knowles leads the pack with 10 nods.

Following Beyonce's domination is her junior Taylor Swift. The country music singer grabs eight nominations, four of which have her going head-to-head against Beyonce. The two female performers are up against each other in Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The nominees were announced on December 2 with Nick Jonas and his new band, Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell rocking the special event. George Lopez unveiled contenders for Song of the Year which include "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa, "Pretty Wings" by Maxwell and "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon in addition to "You Belong With Me" by Taylor and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" by Beyonce.

Linkin Park then presented nominees for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals. The likes of Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, The Fray, Daryl Hall & John Oates as well as MGMT appear on the list.

Next, Katy Perry announced that "Black Ice" by AC/DC, "Live from Madison Square Garden" by Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, "21st Century Breakdown" by Green Day, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King" by Dave Matthews Band and "No Line on the Horizon" by U2 will have a chance to take home prize for Best Rock Album.

Lil Wayne took the stage of Club Nokia to switch from rock to rap genre. The MC unveiled that fellow rappers Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi and Mos Def will face off against each other in Best Rap Solo Performance category.

Before the concert was wrapped, Dwight Yoakam came onto the stage, announcing nominees for Best Country Performance by a Duo/Group with Vocals. And, the contenders are Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 31, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Its full nominations list can be seen on Grammy Awards official site.
