AceShowbiz - Another preview of thriller film "Daybreakers" has been provided by Lionsgate Films through a new TV spot. Making its way out via Yahoo! Movies, the snippet gives a look at the efforts to save humanity, through both scientific research and fights using weapons.
"Daybreakers" is set in 2017, when a plague transforms the world's population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a secret team of vampires uncovers a way that would rescue the human race. At the same time, a group of surviving humans wishes to repopulate the species and survive.
Coming from writer-director duo, Peter and Michael Spierig, the film has two-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke playing researcher Edward Dalton. Also among the cast are Willem Dafoe as Elvis, Isabel Lucas as Alison Bromley, and Sam Neill as Charles Bromley. The movie is slated to invade U.S. theaters on January 8, 2010.
