Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson scoop their second trophies for Favorite Country Female and Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist respectively.

AceShowbiz - Though losing Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist to Taylor Swift at this year's American Music Awards, Beyonce Knowles came victorious in Soul/R 'n' B Music category as she got Favorite Female Artist title which was presented by Kris Allen and Demi Lovato. Like Taylor however, Beyonce was absent from the annual event.

Prior to Beyonce's winning, Keith Urban who was spotted sitting in the front row next to his wife Nicole Kidman grabbed Favorite Country Male Artist. He thanked his wife and their child when accepting the award which was presented by Zac Brown Band.

In between the winner announcement, Rihanna made a futuristic performance with her dance track "Wait Your Turn". There were also Lady GaGa who entertained the viewers with "Bad Romance", Carrie Underwood who brought "Cowboy Casanova" and Mary J. Blige who delivered "I Am".

Last year's T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist nominee Colbie Caillat went onto the stage to announce winner for the category. And, the lucky one was Gloriana. During the acceptance speech, the country music band joked about the fact that nobody knows who they are.

Following Jennifer Lopez's "Louboutins" performance, actor Samuel L. Jackson gave out the International Artist of the Year to Whitney Houston, who emerged on-stage with "I Didn't Know My Own Strength". After the set was finished, she accepted the special award, thanking people who have supported her, including daughter Bobbi Kristina.

Next, Carrie Ann Inaba and Leona Lewis presented Favorite Country Female Artist to Taylor Swift who once again delivered her acceptance speech from London. Melissa Etheridge handed Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist to Jermaine Jackson on behalf of his brother Michael Jackson.

"It's not just about the winnings, the awards, it's the message, the message Michael had will live on forever. He saw good in everyone ... and he always started with love. Start with love and let's love each other," Jermaine said.
