FX Network, known to have purchased the TV rights to many box office movies, has acquired the ones for '2012' and 'Zombieland'.

AceShowbiz - Literally hours after finding out that "2012 (2009)" has gathered around $225 million in its opening weekend on theaters, FX Network snatched the opportunity to be the network with its TV broadcasting right. FX will begin airing the movie directed by Roland Emmerich on its screen starting early 2012.
Although "2012" performed quite well in the box office both domestically and internationally, FX paid a standard fee for the license. According to THR, the cable put out 12|percent| of the domestic income, which is around $7.8 million. FX also paid 12|percent| for another box office champ, "Zombieland".
Emmerich previously revealed that he has an interest in developing a sequel to "2012" as a TV series. "The plan is that it is 2013 and it's about what happens after the disaster," Emmerich opened up about the plot. "It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating." Mark Gordon ("Grey's Anatomy") is slated to assist him in the production.
However, it looks like "2012" the TV series will be bought by ABC to replace "Lost" which is ending it all in midseason 2010.
