Producer Jeremy Bolt would love to see a new trilogy of 'Resident Evil' or at least the fifth film if 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' does well enough.

AceShowbiz - While "Resident Evil: Afterlife" has yet to wrap its production in Canada, there are already talks about the follow-up to the fourth installment of the thriller movie franchise. Recently, producer Jeremy Bolt told Ryan Rotten from Shock Till You Drop, "If it does well enough obviously we'll do another one."

Moreover, Bolt admitted that he actually hopes to make the fourth film as the beginning of a new trilogy. "Yes, we are hoping [we can get the new characters seen in 'Afterlife' back], that would be a dream to have another three [films]," he said.

Supposedly "Resident Evil" is made into several new films, Bolt wants Paul W.S. Anderson to direct it or the studio will have to find another helmer on his level, although "it's tough" to find one with his skills. He then added, "But I hope that we can make a few more and his [Anderson's] creative brilliance is essential to that."

As for "Resident Evil: Afterlife", the shooting is planned to be finished in December and the first trailer is expected to arrive in January 2010. The story will revolve around Alice, who continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety in a world ravaged by a virus infection, where its victims are turned into the Undead. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but she gets some unexpected help from an old friend. Screen Gems eyes an August 27, 2010 release date for the film.
