Lady Antebellum win Single of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, while Jamey Johnson receives Song of the Year.

AceShowbiz - Announced live from the Sommet Center in Nashville on November 11 were the winners of 2009 Country Music Association Awards. Lady Antebellum took the first trophy of the evening for Single of the Year, thanks to their song "I Run to You". The honor was presented by Kid Rock. In this category, Antebellum beat Zac Brown Band, Jamey Johnson, Billy Currington and Brad Paisley.

Antebellum came to the stage once again, this time to collect Vocal Group of the Year prize which was presented by Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn. The band's member Hillary Scott thanked the veterans and said she is grateful about making music with her bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. Whereas, Kelley called fellow nominee Rascal Flatts an inspiration, and Haywood thanked their fans.

After Darius Rucker's performance, Kellie Pickler and Jake Owen took the stage, announcing that Johnson, though losing Single of the Year to Antebellum, still managed to grab a nod for Song of the Year. "I never thought y'all let me come to stuff like this," he said during his acceptance speech.

Johnson shared the prize with his two co-writers Lee Thomas Miller and James Otto. Miller gave a shoutout to veterans on Veterans Day and to Fort Hood since they spent a lot of time talking about their grandfather while writing the song. Otto, meanwhile, used the moment to thank his wife.
