'Twilight' and 'The Proposal', which receive six nods each, are among the top contenders named for the 36th Annual People's Choice Awards.

AceShowbiz - The nominations for the 36th People's Choice Awards have been announced on Tuesday, November 10. Based on the announcement, it is revealed that vampire drama film "Twilight" and drama comedy "The Proposal" lead the pack of the nominees in movie categories with six nods each.
The two movies are among the contenders in Favorite Movie and Franchise categories. Moreover, "Twilight" and "The Proposal" lead actors, Robert Pattinson and Ryan Reynolds, share Favorite Actor nod. Kristen Stewart and Sandra Bullock, meanwhile, are up against for Favorite Actress gong. Both movie stars are also among the contenders in On-Screen Team category.
Additionally, "Twilight" has aided Taylor Lautner, the depicter of werewolf Jacob Black, to receive a count for Breakout Movie Actor. Meanwhile, Reynolds' performance in "The Proposal" has put him among the nominees in Comedic Star category.
Some other movies which also dominate the movie categories include "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". In the meantime, Christian Bale, Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackman, Shia LaBeouf, and Vin Diesel are among the nominees in Action Star category.
The winners of 36th Annual People's Choice Awards will be announced on January 6 and the show will be aired live by CBS starting at 9 P.M. ET/PT. The event, which will give awards in all 35 categories for movies, TV, and music based on online voting, will be hosted by Queen Latifah.
