Johnny Depp to Be Seduced by Angelina Jolie in 'The Tourist'
Movie

The famed Captain Jack Sparrow of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' trilogy is in negotiations to fill in the shoes left empty by Sam Worthington.

AceShowbiz - "The Tourist" is likely to see the collaboration of two Hollywood stars, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. After reports of the "Changeling" star being set to replace Charlize Theron for the female lead role broke out earlier, Variety came up with another casting report which said that the three-time Academy Award-nominated actor is in talks to join her.

Should the deal work out, the 46-year-old will take on the role of an American tourist who is being used by Jolie's Interpol agent character to locate a criminal who was her ex-lover. Depp's potential role once belonged to Sam Worthington before the "Avatar" star exited the project due to creative differences.

"The Tourist" has Christopher McQuarrie, Julian Fellowes and Bill Wheeler as the writers of its script. Producers of "The Tourist" are looking to find a new director after director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck dropped out. von Donnersmarck's exit was also said to be over creative differences. Up to the news' date, the production is still scheduled to begin in February 2010.

On another Johnny Depp's news, hints on how the actor will portray Tonto in "The Lone Ranger" have been shared. In a recent group interview in Santa Monica, California, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said to expect Depp giving a Jack Sparrow treatment to the Lone Ranger's Native American sidekick.

"[Pirates writers Ted] Elliot and [Terry] Rossio worked on that also with some other writers and with Johnny [Depp]," the uber producer explained as quoted by Sci Fi Wire. "So they're creating something that has a kind of true-to-the-western [feel], but adding other additional elements like we did with Pirates so it won't be just a straight-ahead western."
