AceShowbiz - "The Messenger (2009)", the movie that won Silver Bear for Best Screenplay from Berlin International Film Festival 2009, has got its trailer. Released at Apple, the sneak peek shares a taste of the hard time a U.S. Army officer has to deal with when he delivers bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers.

Ben Foster is Will Montgomery, a U.S. Army officer who has just returned home from a tour in Iraq. Partnered with fellow officer Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson), he is assigned to the Army's Casualty Notification service, one of the worst jobs in the Army. Seeking to find comfort and healing himself, he finds himself drawn to Olivia, to whom he has just delivered the news of her husband's death, and enters an ethical dilemma.

"The Messenger" marks the directorial debut of Oren Moverman, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Alessandro Camon. Premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, it was in competition at 2009 Berlinale and took home Berlinale Peace Film Award. Samantha Morton and Jena Malone are among the cast. A limited release in the U.S. is scheduled for November 13.
