Set to pen the screenplay, creator Mitchell Hurwitz and co-executive producer James Vallely reportedly are pitching more bizarre encounters for the dysfunctional family.

AceShowbiz - "Arrested Development" is moving toward materialization. According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), creator Mitchell Hurwitz and co-executive producer James Vallely are working on a screenplay for the big screen project for FOX's sitcom about the Bluths, a dysfunctional and formerly wealthy family.

THR further claimed that Hurwitz and Vallely are "spinning more bizarre encounters for the eccentric, spoiled Bluth clan". They are aiming a possible start of production in spring of 2009 with Hurwitz taking on the directing job. The two have worked together for "Sit Down, Shut Up", a FOX comedy series which stars a number of "Arrested" actors including Will Arnett .

Hurwitz had mentioned previously that the scripting won't be started unless all the main actors were committed. Arnett, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi and Jeffrey Tambor are among the original stars expected to make their return for the big screen version.

At the WonderCon panel for "Sit Down, Shut Up" in February, Hurwitz has shared on the difficulties of bringing back all of the actors together. "We've had some trouble," he confessed. "Unlike animation, where you can get the Family Guy cast back together, it's been a little challenging scheduling everyone."

The television version of "Arrested Development" revolves around the members of Bluth family with the relatively honorable Michael Bluth as the center of attention. While he strives to do the right thing and keep his family together, his family delves in materialism, selfishness, and their manipulative natures. The series has received six Emmy Awards and was executive produced by Ron Howard.
