Sylvester Stallone Wants 'Death Wish' Remake
Movie

The actor behind forthcoming action film 'The Expendables' also addresses the rumored 'Cliffhanger' sequel and his passion for 'Poe'.

AceShowbiz - Sylvester Stallone isn't done yet with action movies. Having two forthcoming actioners on his sleeves, "The Expendables" and "Rambo V: The Savage Hunt", the 63-year-old admitted to Empire that he has his eye on "Death Wish", the remake to the 1970's exploitation film of the same name.

"I'm thinking about it," Sly opened up. "It's a classic morality tale, where you take a civilized man and take away everything that matters to him so he becomes primitive again." He continued, "The story's been done many times, and when it's done well, it's an emotionally engaging film. The trouble with remakes is that people fall in love with the original. It's like peanut butter. If you try to change the taste of peanut butter, you're in trouble."

Aside from his potential involvement in the project, the actor turned filmmaker also talked about a possible "Cliffhanger" sequel. "I hear they're gonna remake it," he opened up when asked to address on the speculation. "You know you've been around when they start to remake your own movies when you're still alive."

As for other project he is interested in, Sly pointed out on "Poe", a biopic project on writer Edgar Allan Poe. "I keep telling my producer Avi Lerner, 'Make Edgar Allan Poe!' He says, 'Does he have a gun?' 'No, he doesn't have a gun', 'Can he throw a knife?' I say, 'No, he writes poetry!' " so he said. While passionate about the project, the star of "Rocky Balboa" turned down possibility of him taking the titular role. He stated, "Of course, I'm not playing Poe. 'Yo, Poe!' It won't work! It'll be some young actor because he dies at 39, but it's gonna happen."
