Pearl Jam's 'Backspacer' beats Jay-Z's 'The Blueprint 3' on this week's U.S. albums chart.

AceShowbiz - Pearl Jam's latest studio installment "Backspacer" makes a debut at number one on Billboard Hot 200, forcing Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3" to slide down to the second spot. This album has sold around 189,000 units and becomes the band's first chart topper in the U.S. since their effort "No Code" ruled the chart in 1996.

Although failing to hold its position at No. 1 on the U.S. albums chart, Jay-Z's album still managed to scan more than 130,000 copies. With such number, the rapper's studio project has sold 908,000 units since making its way out across the country on September 11.

Next at the third place on the chart is Three Days Grace's "Life Starts Now". Meanwhile, rounding the Top Five are Whitney Houston's comeback record "I Look to You" and Miley Cyrus' first mini album "The Time of Our Lives [Walmart EP]" at number 4 and 5 respectively.
