International acts are dominating the list with Lady GaGa taking five nominations including Best Female.

AceShowbiz - Those acts crowding the nominations list of MTV Europe Music Awards this year have been unearthed with U.S. artists in domination. One in particular is Lady GaGa who has made her triumph at recent MTV Video Music Awards. The "Just Dance" singer is taking five nominations, the same amount that Kings of Leon grab.

GaGa is placed under Best Song category for "Poker Face", Best Live Act and Best Female among others. In all three categories, she has to battle them out with Beyonce Knowles who puts up front her single "Halo". Beyonce herself is up for four nominations, one in Best Video for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)".

Other international acts who are competing this year include Jay-Z, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, The Veronicas and Kanye West. Meanwhile, there is one category, Best European Act, which contenders will only be announced on October 12. Voting for the available categories has been kicked off on Monday, September 21 at MTV.co.uk.

The ceremony to hand out the prizes will be held in Berlin, Germany on November 5. Confirmed performers are Green Day, Leona Lewis and Tokio Hotel. "The MTV Europe Music Awards prides itself on consistently delivering exceptional live performances by some of the biggest and most exciting musical acts in the world - and this year will be no exception," said Bruce Gillmer, co-executive producer and SVP, Talent & Music, MTV Networks International.
