A representative for Madonna has slammed report of the singer approaching Janet for a duet of Michael Jackson tribute song.

AceShowbiz - Contrary to rumors on the street, Madonna isn't planning a duet with Janet Jackson. When contacted by Access Hollywood for a confirmation of a report run by British OK! Magazine that the two singers are planning a duet for Michael Jackson tribute song, Madonna's representative confirmed the report was not true.

On Thursday, September 17, OK! reported Madonna has approached Janet Jackson following her performance at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 13 to talk about a possible collaboration. "It was a meeting of two great musical minds," the magazine cited a source as informing.

"Madonna was so impressed with Janet's tribute to Michael that they started talking about how great it would be to honor him by doing something together ... There was definitely something very interesting being planned between them."

During the star-studded awards gala, Madonna delivered a speech to honor Michael Jackson. "All I could think about in that moment [when he passed away] was that I had abandoned him. That we had abandoned him," so she told audience. As for Janet, she danced to "Scream", her duet track with Michael, to honor the late King of Pop.
