AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment celebrated the countdown to the Friday, September 11 theatrical opening of "Whiteout" with a Los Angeles premiere. On Wednesday, September 9, the studios rolled down white carpet in front of Mann's Village Theater in Hollywood to greet the incoming celebrities.

Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht were two of the leading actors present for the special screening event. Beckinsale who takes the role of U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko arrived to the premiere accompanied by her director husband Len Wiseman, and Macht who plays U.N. operative Robert Pryce had his actress wife Jacinda Barrett by his side.

Those two were not the only cast members attending this premiere. Alex O'Loughlin and Tom Skerritt also joined them at the white carpet. Screenwriters Chad and Carey W. Hayes, as well as creators of the comic series, Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber, and Warner Bros. president Alan F. Horn didn't miss the special occasion as well.

The guest celebrities spotted included "Friday the 13th" beauty Amanda Righetti, comedian Tommy Davidson and "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancer Lacey Schwimmer. TV personality Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe Kardashian also made an appearance at the event.

Directed by Dominic Sena, "Whiteout" follows Carrie Stetko as she falls into Antarctica's first murder investigation. Three days before she is planned to depart back to home after two years stationed at Antarctica's South Pole research base, a body turns up on the ice. But, the deeper she gets into the investigation, the death toll mounts and the mystery deepens.

Facing shifting loyalties, deadly whiteouts, and a relentless killer who will stop at nothing to protect a secret buried for over sixty years, she now has to race against time before Antarctica is plunged into six months of darkness and she is stranded with the killer on a land where nothing comes in and no one gets out.
