'Rambo' to Hunt Super Soldiers in Fifth Film

September 5, 2009 (6:39 am) GMT
Instead of rescuing a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border, John Rambo allegedly will be dealing with U.S. military's experiments in 'Rambo V: The Savage Hunt'.

What John Rambo's latest mission will be in "Rambo V" apparently is a little bit different from what has been suggested earlier. Bringing up the subject into attention is Ain't It Cool News (AICN), which claimed suggested the fifth movie will involve a secret installation where U.S. military is doing experiments to create super soldiers.

Providing details on the plot told by the "Rambo" star, Harry of AICN wrote that instead of taking place near the U.S.-Mexico border, the film will be set in the Pacific Northwest. He further reported, "It seems that somewhere in that Area there is a U.S. Military installation that is doing experiments on elite soldiers as part of some sort of program where they're attempting to tap into that SAVAGERY that we have deeply embedded into us."

He also pointed out that in the story, the military plans to create "brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life." When the plan backlash, Rambo is called upon and together with a Black Ops squad, he goes on a mission to hunt down, capture and kill the soldiers which are compared to "The Immortals" of "".

When "Rambo V", which AICN claimed to have received a working title of "", was given green light, it was reported that Vietnam veteran John Rambo is expected to fight his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.

This fifth installment of the "Rambo" series will be produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King Templeton and John Thompson with Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson as executive producers. Sylvester Stallone, who is still working on "", will return to the starring and directing duties he did for "". Production is planned to start in spring of 2010.
