Colbie Calliat rules Billbord Hot 200 for the first time with 106,000 copies sold for 'Breakthrough', while Miley Cyrus reaches No. 3 with her first mini album.

AceShowbiz - Colbie Caillat makes her first No. 1 album on Billboard Hot 200 with her sophomore set titled "Breakthrough". Making its way out in U.S. on August 25, this record has garnered 106,000 copies in its first week on sale, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"You always hope for the best, but you never actually think it's going to happen," Colbie told Billboard concerning her achievement. "I never want to get my hopes up. Everyone kept saying, 'I think it's gonna be No. 1. It's gonna be No. 1. It looks like it,' and I just kept trying to ignore it 'cause I didn't want it to not happen. And now that it is happening, I can't believe it."

Colbie's first studio set "Coco" which came out in 2007 could only peak at number 5 on the U.S. albums chart. The highest rank of the album on the chart was experienced in its first week with 51,000 units.

This week's runner-up of Hot 200 also belongs to a newcomer. Rock band Skillet's eighth studio album "Awake" debuts on the second spot and has sold 68,000 copies, becoming the group's highest chart position and best sales week.

Another new entry on the chart is Miley Cyrus' first mini album "The Time of Our Lives [Walmart EP]" which debuts at number 3. Arriving in the market on the same week Colbie and Skillet's efforts were outed, this EP scanned 62,000 copies.
