Words are, Marvel Studios, Paramount and Disney are considering to release the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster 'Iron Man' in 3-D format.

AceShowbiz - While "Iron Man 2" has been in its post-production phase for quite some time, it has been hit with another rumor, speculating that Marvel Studios is tinkering with the conversion of the action movie to Digital 3-D. Coming up with the story was Ain't It Cool News (AICN) which reported that a minute of the "Iron Man" sequel is being converted to 3-D as a demo.

"Right now, there is a 1 minute demo of IRON MAN 2 converted to high quality digital 3D. I'm told this one minute is totally like Kim Basinger & Mickey Rourke in 9 1/2 WEEKS," so Harry of AICN claimed. The site further pointed out that while the 3-D demo is prepared, Marvel, Paramount and Disney "are fishing for bids with 3 different companies to see what the cost and time it would take to convert IRON MAN 2 to a complete 3D film."

Re-teaming director Jon Favreau and star Robert Downey Jr., "Iron Man 2" has Gwyneth Paltrow reprising her role as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard for Colonel James 'Rhodey' Rhodes and Scarlett Johansson starring as Black Widow. The script is written by "Tropic Thunder" co-scribbler Justin Theroux.

Previously, Rourke's stuntman Garrett Warren had spilled some details on his work for the superhero movie. To Movieline, he talked about the stunt works he did for this sequel and teased on how the Whiplash suit will look like. This action movie will open wide in theaters across the U.S. on May 7, 2010.
