A day after the Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment, 20th Century Fox reveals its plan of rebooting the 'Fantastic Four' franchise.

AceShowbiz - Rumor that "Fantastic Four" franchise is getting a reboot treatment has contained some truth after all. 20th Century Fox has finally announced that this untitled new Fantastic Four project has indeed been planned, and has hired the Academy Award-winning screenwriter and "Jonah Hex" producer, Akiva Goldsman, to oversee the reboot as producer, according to Variety.
Michael Green, the co-executive producer of "Heroes" and the co-writer of "Green Lantern", has been brought on board to pen the script. As details on the restart are being kept under tight wraps, it is too early to tell whether or not Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis will reprise their roles as the members of the popular superhero team.
News of the reboot came hot on the heels of report that Walt Disney Company has made a deal to acquire Marvel Entertainment for approximately $4 billion in cash and stock. This will be the third start-over for the popular Marvel Comics series. The first one was in 1994 by B-movie producer Roger Corman and was never released to theaters or video. In 2005, the second one "Fantastic Four" was brought to big screen by director Tim Story.
Back in March, IESB has suggested that 20th Century Fox is looking forward to give a fresh start for "Fantastic Four". At the time, the site claimed that the studio plans to take it into a more serious territory using an approach described as "less bubble gum" and more like "Iron Man" than "The Dark Knight". Story and the cast ensemble were said to be put out of the equation.
