'Bourne 4' Recruits a New Writer
Movie

With screenwriter George Nolfi having to step away from this fourth installment of the 'Bourne' series, Universal Pictures hires scribe Josh Zetumer to pen what is described to be 'a parallel script'.

AceShowbiz - Long without any update, the fourth "Bourne" movie comes out to the attention with a new writer intact. Breaking the news was The Hollywood Reporter, which claimed Universal Pictures has signed screenwriter Josh Zetumer to pen a new script, which has been described as a parallel script, for this untitled Bourne 4 project.

Zetumer, who has generated buzz for writing "Dune", is brought in after scribe George Nolfi had to step away. Nolfi, who worked on "The Bourne Ultimatum", was originally on board for the penning of the fourth entry, but was forced to depart due to his commitment to "The Adjustment Bureau". It is still unclear whether Zetumer's work will be integrated with Nolfi's.

Despite the hiring of Zetumer, Universal apparently still hoped that Nolfi could return to the project when he is done with "Adjustment Bureau". On the matter, a spokesperson for the studio said, "Our hope is that Nolfi, a key member of the 'Bourne' team, will return after he is done with 'The Adjustment Bureau.' "

"Bourne 4" will be the latest "Bourne" movie made after "The Bourne Ultimatum". While earlier it was suggested that the story may be based on Robert Ludlum's "The Parsifal Mosaic", it has been noted that "Mosaic" could be developed into another movie by Universal Pictures. Matt Damon is expected to reprise his role as Jason Bourne, while Frank Marshall and Jeffrey Weiner are set to produce.
