AceShowbiz - Lee Ann Peniche, the mother of former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche, tells E! News in a brief interview that the family is "disappointed" over the leak of the threesome tape featuring Kari naked with actor Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart. "She's 25 years old and she has made some poor choices," Lee says of her daughter.
Asked about Kari's reaction over the ordeal, the older Peniche tells E! News, "She is upset" adding "I am certain she is being coached to keep her chin up." Lee then goes on recounting Kari's younger years, revealing "She was really fun. She was everyone's best friend."
"She played soccer all the way to her senior year in high school and was a cheerleader. She went to a small Lutheran school. She was just an amazing person," Lee states. "Growing up, this is a young lady who had a wonderful life ..... Things came very easy for Kari."
Kari Ann Peniche competed at Miss Teen USA and held the Miss United States Teen title. However, she was stripped off her title after appearing nude in the November 2004 issue of Playboy magazine.
On Monday, August 17, Gawker.com unleashed an edited video featuring Kari, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart taping themselves naked in a bedroom and bathroom. Soon thereafter, Kari confirmed to TMZ that the video was taken more than two years ago at her apartment. She suspected her ex-roommate Mindy McCready stole it from the hard drive of her computer after they were involved in an argument over money.
Mindy hasn't commented on the accusation. As for Eric, he has had his representative confirming that legal action will be pursued against anyone who leaked the threesome tape.
