AceShowbiz - A good three minutes sneak peek to FX Network's new series, "Lawman", is given during TV Critics Association press tour and the footage has gone online. The series starring Timothy Olyphant will only premiere in Spring 2010 but the buzz has been made in recent weeks following a 13-episode order from FX.

In "Lawman", Olyphant is modern day U.S. marshal named Ryalan Givens, a character based on Elomore Leonard's short story "Fire in the Hole". Givens enforces his brand of justice in a way that puts him as a target of criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the marshal service. As a result, he's reassigned to the rural Kentucky town where he grew up.

"Boomtown" creator Graham Yost wrote the pilot episode and will executive produce along with Leonard and others. "Graham began with a memorable character from one of America's foremost crime novelists, Elmore Leonard, and we scored the hat trick signing Tim Olyphant," FX President and General Manager John Landgraf said during the press conference.

Other stars in the series include Nick Searcy, Jacob Pitts and Erica Tazel.
