Two 'Twilight' Stars Auditioned for Catherine Hardwicke's 'Hamlet'
Movie

Though keeping her lips tightly sealed on which actors have auditioned, director Catherine Hardwicke does hint that they could be 'somebody who's already been killed' in 'The Twilight Saga's Eclipse'.

AceShowbiz - Director Catherine Hardwicke is likely to team up once again with some of her "Twilight" stars in her feature version of "Hamlet". The 53-year-old filmmaker admitted the possibility when MTV caught up with her at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, saying that two of the "Twilight" stars have auditioned for the Shakespearean project.

Though she didn't mention which "Twilight" stars have done so, the helmer of "Thirteen" did give a clue on which actors from the vampire drama could be joining the cast. "We're shooting at the same time as 'Eclipse,' " she explained. "So it has to be people with smaller parts [in that film], so that they can sneak over and do ours."

When presented with the question whether one of the candidates is James' depicter Cam Gigandet, Hardwicke remained coy, but she indicated that those two could be "somebody who's already been killed" in the series by "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse".

As for the film itself, the production designer of "Vanilla Sky" described it as "a crazy, rad adaptation of 'Hamlet'." Of its current status, she said, "We are very close [to shooting] - we've got all our financing companies and we're doing casting. It's a flashing green light! We've been doing a lot of auditions with a lot of young actresses for Ophelia and [actors] for Laertes."

Catherine Hardwicke's "Hamlet" is said to be a modern-day, supernatural version of the William Shakespeare classic tragedy of the same name. It will take place in contemporary America and focus on a young man burdened with the decision of whether to take revenge on his father's killer who happens to be his own uncle. Emile Hirsch is set to star.
