Behind the Scenes of Peter Jackson's 'The Lovely Bones'
Movie

Get into 'An Emotional Journey' with director Peter Jackson and some of 'The Lovely Bones' cast, Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg and Saoirse Ronan among others, as they discuss on the adaptation project.

AceShowbiz - Yahoo! Movies has an exclusive look at the behind-the-scene video for the upcoming drama "The Lovely Bones" and has made it available for others to enjoy it. The featurette titled "An Emotional Journey" takes a look at the making of the Alice Sebold's novel adaptation with commentary from director Peter Jackson, co-producer and screenwriter Philippa Boyens, and several cast members.

Featuring many on-the-set footage, the video hears Jackson first praising Sebold's work with the book and how Saoirse Ronan brings the main character Susie Salmon to life. Explanation of the story itself is provided by two of the film's actors, Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg. Boyens also chimes in, talking about the importance of finding the right Susie Salmon.

"The Lovely Bones" picks up the story of Susie Salmon, a young girl who is raped and murdered by her serial killer neighbor. As her spirit reaches heaven, she can only see her family's grief from a distance while her murderer sets his eyes on another victim. Torn apart from her desire to seek revenge and willingness to help her family recover from the tragedy, she struggles to balance the two mixed feelings.

Coming from "The Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson, the drama film gets Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg to be Susie's parents, Susan Sarandon as Susie's grandmother, Stanley Tucci as Susie's killer George Harvey, and Michael Imperioli as Len Fenerman, a police detective in charge of investigating Susie's death. December 11 will be the date it opens wide in U.S. theaters.
