Green Day and Pink are going to rock the 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards, while Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Chase Crawford will present awards.

AceShowbiz - Green Day are confirmed to have been listed among this year's MTV Video Music Awards' performers. The band fronted by Billie Joe Armstrong are scheduled to deliver a song from their new studio album "21st Century Breakdown".

"We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards," Billie shared his excitement to MTV. "You never know what's going to happen, and it's always a memorable experience for us."

Beside Green Day, another newly-announced musical guest at the annual event is Pink. The "So What" hitmaker is expected to perform a track from her latest studio installment "Funhouse". She said regarding the upcoming show, "Last year, I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in L.A. This year, I can't wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York."

Moreover, MTV announced that singers Katy Perry and Ne-Yo as well as actor Chace Crawford have been recruited as presenters at the awards. As for its nominees and additional presenters, they are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

2009 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on September 9 at 9 P.M. ET with last year's host Russell Brand once again being billed for the job. The awards will take over New York City's most iconic locations, including Radio City Music Hall. Taylor Swift and Muse will also entertain the awards' audience in addition to Green Day and Pink.

Previously, Russell Brand promised to bring no controversy to the upcoming awards. However, fans will still be treated with an outrageous show as Russell already thought about doing some "unlawful acts" with P. Diddy to surpass Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno / Eminem incident at 2009 MTV Movie Awards in May.

Moreover, Jordin Sparks who defended Jonas Brothers after they were mocked by Russell for wearing purity rings thought that she might become Russell's next target. In preparing for Russell's possible move, she said she "got [her] armor" in.
