Movie

One of the causes for the production delay of the 2nd 'SATC' film is blamed on the rumor that UAE government is upset with the idea some of the film's scenes will be shot in the nation.

AceShowbiz - Production for "Sex and the City" sequel has reportedly been stalled by several problems. On one of the reasons why, Us Weekly has learned that Warner Bros. Pictures may have to find another location after plans to base part of the plots of "Sex and the City 2" in Dubai have upset the United Arab Emirates government.

The authorities of the nation apparently "aren't keen on the title because of the word 'sex'," a source told the publication. Beside the location problem, the cast allegedly cannot act in front of the camera anytime soon because the New York shoot for the Michael Patrick King-directed movie has already been pushed back until the end of August for some reasons which are not mentioned.

The good news is the producers for the second installment of the drama comedy franchise are using the delay to hold an open casting call for extras in Chelsea, New York City, on August 2, 2009. The call is said aiming to look for "models, celebrity types, upscale socialites, urban clubgoers, gays and lesbians, international types (Middle Eastern, Arabic, Asian, European, British) and professional soccer players."

People who feel they are qualified with the description and are interested to join the audition are invited to come to Metropolitan Pavilion located at 125 W 18th St. at 10:00 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. for the SAG and 01:30 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. for the non-union. Additionally, those who are not able to come at the spot for casting call may send e-mail of headshot to [email protected].

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth are slated to reprise their roles in "Sex and the City 2". There were also rumors that Victoria Adams and Katie Price will join the casting line-up. So far, there hasn't been any official storyline released for the film which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 28, 2010.
